My oh my have things changed since I last wrote. Like most people, we had some pretty big daily life changes in my house and priorities shifted. Honestly, my volunteer work with the Breastfeeding Coalition slipped to the back of my mind. But, that didn't last long. One thing that has not changed in the last few months is that families are having babies. And they want to give their baby a healthy start by breastfeeding - many are not reaching their breastfeeding goals. Where are we going wrong? How can we as a community are we allowing this to happen? False information is shared. Families don't know where to turn for help. Stresses and challenges make breastfeeding more difficult. There are families that are not reaching their breastfeeding goals which means we have work to do. Please join us next Thursday as we discuss what breastfeeding families face on the coast. From this discussion, the SMBFC board will develop some specific project goals to address real challenges and create real change.
